AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Wednesday met senior BJP leader H. Raja, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai, and inquired about his health.
H. Raja had fallen ill while attending a programme organised by a private news agency in the city two days ago and reportedly fainted on stage, causing concern among those present. He was initially admitted to Balaji Hospital and later shifted to Apollo Hospital on Greams Road for specialised treatment.
Apollo Hospital, in a medical bulletin issued on Tuesday, confirmed that H. Raja had suffered a stroke and is receiving treatment under the supervision of a team of specialists. His condition is said to be under close medical observation.
Several political leaders and public figures have been visiting the hospital to check on his health. BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan and actor Rajinikanth had earlier met H. Raja and wished him a speedy recovery.
During his visit, Edappadi Palaniswami spoke with doctors and family members and conveyed his wishes for H. Raja’s early recovery.
