Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Grasim Industries Ltd., Aditya Birla Group, Mumbai, on Wednesday to foster academic and industry collaboration in the textile and apparel sector.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr Nandini Rangaswamy, Chairperson, GRG Institutions, Coimbatore, and Shri Murugan Thenkondar, President and Head, Global Business Development, Grasim Industries Ltd., Mumbai.
The agreement focuses on knowledge sharing, skill development, collaborative research, joint publications, design ideation and new product development. The initiative is expected to strengthen the academic-industry interface and equip students with practical exposure to evolving market trends and technological advancements.
Through this partnership, the Department of Costume and Apparel Design aims to remain aligned with the latest developments in the textile and fashion industry. The collaboration will also open avenues for innovation, internships and real-time industry engagement for students and faculty members.
College authorities expressed confidence that the MoU would pave the way for long-term cooperation and meaningful outcomes in research and product innovation.
