The Haryana Transport Department conducts weekly online auctions for VIP and fancy numbers. Applications for preferred numbers are accepted from 5 p.m. on Friday to 9 a.m. on Monday, followed by online bidding until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, when the final results are declared. The entire process is handled on the official portal fancy.parivahan.gov.in.
In the latest auction, the registration number TIRxxB8xxx was listed with a base price of
Rs 50,000. Intense bidding pushed the price upward every minute, finally closing at
Rs 1.17 crore.

Transport department officials said such high-value numbers are typically bid on by political leaders, ministers, and senior officials.
