Stop derogatory speech!

BJP state president Nainar Nagendran faced widespread criticism in a recent interview for saying, “Vijay should leave actress Trisha behind.” He had also used vulgar language towards actress Trisha in a bid to criticize Vijay.
There was a lot of condemnation for the state leader of a national party speaking in a derogatory manner in public. DMK MPs Kanimozhi, Tamilachi Thangapandian, Kanimozhi N.V.N. Somu and Dr. Ramadoss, Vaiko, P. Shanmugam and others registered their strong condemnations.
Amidst the backlash against such public insults against a woman, BJP National Women’s Wing leader and MLA Vanathi Srinivasan gave a scathing interview saying, “This is not a matter of discussion.. They are exaggerating it.” Khushbu, a popular actress from the party who gets angry when it comes to women, did not even open her mouth for her fellow actress.
In this context, actress Trisha has registered her condemnation of Nainar Nagendran for speaking about her in an embarrassing manner. In her post, she has responded with a slap, saying, “I never expected a person in a high position in state politics to make such a despicable and inappropriate comment.” But Vijay has not yet said a single word to condemn Nainar Nagendran or to erase the shame that Trisha has suffered by associating himself with him.
As support for actress Trisha’s post and opposition to Nainar Nagendran’s speech has grown, Nainar Nagendran has expressed regret, saying, “It was a word that slipped out of his mouth.” What slipped out of his mouth was not a word, but a sentence. Is it enough to just express regret? It would be right for Nainar Nagendran to publicly apologize to Trisha in the same public space.
This controversy has not yet subsided. By then, Karur district BJP leader Senthilnathan’s obscene remarks linking Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Jothimani have gone viral, and the police have registered a case against him. He is absconding. Senthilnathan may also try to get away with saying ‘a word that slipped out of his mouth’. What kind of word game is this? If the field for it is women, what could be a more evil intention?
There can be conflicts of opinion in politics; opinions must be opposed ideologically. Only then can healthy politics take place. Apart from that, it is unacceptable to criticize individuals, especially women… women who are representatives of the people… no matter who criticizes… no matter which party.
So, isn’t it disgusting to talk obscenely about women in public like this? Stop it.
