A popular YouTuber from Madhya Pradesh allegedly became the victim of a well-planned burglary after thieves used details from her home tour videos to identify valuables kept inside her residence.
Rachana Gurjar, known for posting videos showcasing her luxurious lifestyle and house interiors, regularly shared “home tour” content on her YouTube channel. The videos reportedly revealed details of rooms, cupboards and valuables kept inside the house.
According to police, unidentified persons entered her residence around 2 a.m. on Saturday. The intruders allegedly locked the room where Rachana and her family members were sleeping from the outside before searching the house for valuables.
Investigators suspect the thieves relied on information gathered from the YouTuber’s videos to locate jewellery, cash and other expensive items. The burglars reportedly escaped with gold and silver ornaments and valuables worth around ₹10 lakh.
Rachana discovered the incident around 4 a.m. after finding the room locked from the outside. She alerted relatives using her mobile phone, following which the family was rescued and a police complaint was lodged.
Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage and other evidence. Officials also cautioned social media users against revealing excessive details about their homes and valuables through online content, warning that such information could be exploited by criminals.
