Punjabi YouTuber critical of Khalistan stabbed to death in Canada

A Punjabi-origin YouTuber who had openly criticised the Khalistan separatist movement was stabbed to death by unidentified persons at her residence in Canada, police said. Nancy Grewal (45), originally from Punjab and living in LaSalle in the Windsor–Essex region of Ontario, was attacked at her home around 9.30 p.m. on March 3.

According to local reports, unidentified assailants entered her residence and stabbed her multiple times. Emergency services rushed her to hospital, but doctors declared her dead.
Nancy Grewal was widely followed among the Punjabi diaspora in Canada for her social media content and commentary on political issues. She had frequently criticised the Khalistan separatist movement and its supporters in her videos.

She had also spoken strongly against the views of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a leader associated with the banned organisation Sikhs for Justice, and had argued that issues concerning Punjab should be resolved within India rather than by promoting hatred abroad.
Police have launched an investigation into the murder and are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers. Authorities said efforts are under way to trace the suspects and determine the motive behind the killing.
