School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi visited a college student who was seriously injured in a road accident while allegedly following the vehicle of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay in Thanjavur and inquired about his health condition.
The injured student, identified as Vignesh from Tiruchi, is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital after sustaining severe injuries in the accident.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the student attempted to follow Vijay’s vehicle during the actor-turned-politician’s visit to Thanjavur.
In an emotional interaction with the media earlier, the student’s father said he was unaware of the incident and came to know about it only later. He said his son had left home saying he was going to college and the family had not received any information from the college about the incident.
During his visit to the hospital, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi met the injured student and spoke with his family members. The minister assured them that the government would extend necessary support and promised to bear the medical expenses for the student’s treatment.
