PMK manifesto promises jobs, drug control reward scheme

Pattali Makkal Katchi president Anbumani Ramadoss released the party’s election manifesto for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, outlining a range of welfare and development promises, including a reward scheme to curb drug trafficking.
The PMK, which is contesting 18 seats as part of the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance, announced that it would offer a cash reward of Rs. 10,000 to individuals providing credible information on drug-related activities. Among the key promises, the party said it would generate employment for crores of youth over the next five years.
In the first phase, five lakh educated youth would be provided government jobs, while 40,000 teachers would be appointed immediately across Tamil Nadu.
The manifesto also assured a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000 for unemployed graduates and employment opportunities through both government and private sectors, including healthcare and electricity.
For farmers, the party promised a waiver of short-term and medium-term crop loans obtained from public sector and cooperative banks. In the education sector, PMK pledged free education from kindergarten to Class 12 and proposed a textbook-free system in government schools from Class 6 onwards.
The party also announced plans to establish a grand Tamil music hall in Chennai, organise a Tamil music festival and construct a memorial mandapam for natural farming scientist Nammalvar.
