Vijay plans Shirdi visit after Tiruchendur darshan

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader and actor Vijay is expected to visit the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Maharashtra today, following his recent spiritual trip to the Tiruchendur Murugan Temple ahead of the Assembly election vote count scheduled for May 4.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections were held on April 23, with the party contesting independently across 233 constituencies.
Vijay himself contested from Chennai Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East constituencies.
Amid reports of political leaders opting for leisure trips after intense campaigning, Vijay chose to undertake a spiritual journey.
He visited the Tiruchendur Murugan Temple early yesterday morning, offering prayers for the success of his party candidates and his chief ministerial
prospects.
After taking a holy dip in the sea, Vijay participated in the early morning Vishwaroopa Darshan of Lord Murugan. Temple authorities accorded him full honours and presented him with traditional offerings.
Vishwaroopa Darshan refers to viewing the deity in the early morning before abhishekam, in the previous day’s adornment. It is believed to remove fear, enhance courage and fulfil devotees’ wishes.
Following his return to Chennai, sources said Vijay is likely to have darshan at the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at around 10.30 a.m. today.
