Football Tournament Spreads Social Awareness

Coimbatore Eagles – New Life Sports Football Academy, in association with Rotary Club of Coimbatore Texcity and Rotaract Club of LIA Lead India Ahead, successfully conducted a 5-A-Side Kids Football Tournament in Coimbatore on June 21.
Organized by Rotaractor Past President Antony Revanth, the tournament aimed at promoting grassroots football while creating awareness on key social issues. A total of 12 teams participated in the event, which brought together more than 120 young footballers, 30 coaches and over 300 spectators.
The tournament also served as a platform to spread awareness on the themes “Say No to Drugs” and “Say No to Gender-Based Violence”. Awareness sessions and public messages were delivered to players, coaches, parents and spectators, encouraging the community to work towards building a safer and healthier society.
In the competition, Bheeman FA emerged champions, while Ron Sports Club finished runners-up. Pride FC secured the second runners-up position.
Speaking on the occasion, organizer Antony Revanth said sports can be a powerful tool for positive social change and youth development. He said football plays an important role in shaping character, promoting healthy lifestyles and creating awareness among youngsters.
The organizers thanked all participating teams, coaches, parents, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for contributing to the success of the event.
The tournament concluded with prize distribution and a renewed commitment to strengthening grassroots football in Coimbatore while continuing campaigns against drug abuse and gender-based violence.
The event carried the message, “Developing Grassroots Football – Building Stronger Communities.”
