Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology (SRIT), Coimbatore, has brought laurels to the institution with S. Kathiroli, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student and member of Team Mechatrons, receiving the prestigious Indian National Rally Sprint Championship Award at the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) Annual Awards held at Leela Bhartiya City, Bengaluru, on June 18.
Kathiroli was honoured for his outstanding achievements in dirt bike rally motorsports. He received specialised professional training under Jordi Viladoms, Chief Trainer of the Hero Motocross Factory Team, Spain, where he mastered advanced racing techniques and gained valuable motorsport experience.
During the past six months, Kathiroli participated in more than 20 national-level competitions in Motocross, Supercross and Rally Racing across Bengaluru, Goa, Nashik, Raipur, Jaipur, Vadodara and Chikkamagaluru, delivering consistent performances against leading riders from across the country.
The SNR Sons Management, Principal, faculty members and students congratulated Kathiroli on his achievement, describing his success as an inspiration for aspiring engineers to excel in sports alongside academics and bring national recognition to the institution.
