Vanrakshak launches exclusive conservation store in Coimbatore

Vanrakshak launched its first conservation store in Coimbatore on September 4, introducing an initiative aimed at strengthening forest protection, community livelihoods and responsible eco-tourism.

The store is positioned as a conservation platform bringing together modern technology, community participation and public engagement.
It will showcase solutions for forest-fire preparedness, wildlife monitoring, AI-powered surveillance, GSM camera systems, drones, communication equipment, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and human-wildlife conflict
mitigation.

Vanrakshak Founder Sumit Sabharwal said conservation cannot depend solely on Forest Departments and requires technology, community participation and public awareness. He said the initiative aims to create a nationwide network connecting innovation with grassroots action.

The organisation will also work with Self Help Groups, women-led enterprises, tribal artisans and forest-fringe communities to promote sustainable, locally crafted products and create livelihood opportunities.Vanrakshak plans to provide practical training for youth in drone operations, wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, forest-fire response, conservation technology and eco-tourism support.

The initiative also envisions stores near tiger reserves, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, zoos and major wildlife tourism destinations, while partnering with Forest Department souvenir shops and eco-tourismcentres.

Vanrakshak operates under A&S Creations and focuses on conservation technology, forest-fire management, human-wildlife conflict mitigation and community-led initiatives.
