Physio app launched for home-based physiotherapy

A new digital platform aimed at providing physiotherapy services at home was launched in Coimbatore by Telephysio during MOVE X, an international conference on physiotherapy and technology organised in connection with World Physiotherapy Day.
Physiotherapy professionals and medical experts from Coimbatore, various parts of India and abroad participated in the conference and discussed the growing role of technology in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

The event was led by Dr. Sandhya, P.T., founder and CEO of Telephysio. Rehabilitation experts, physiotherapists and representatives from the start-up ecosystem, including Sundar, Kumaresh Babu, Pradeepa, Stafford Michael, Ashmitha Noronha, Gayathri and Naveen Krishna, participated in the sessions.

Dr. Sandhya launched the Physiv app, developed to make physiotherapy care more accessible to patients at home.
According to her, the application uses artificial intelligence technology to monitor patients’ body movements through smartphones and laptops. Based on the monitored movements, patients can perform prescribed physiotherapy exercises under the guidance and supervision of physiotherapy professionals.

The application is expected to benefit senior citizens, people who face difficulty travelling to hospitals, patients requiring continuous physiotherapy after surgery and those unable to regularly visit physiotherapy centres due to work commitments.
The initiative aims to use technology to extend physiotherapy and rehabilitation services beyond hospitals and conventional treatment centres, bringing care closer to patients’ homes.
