Kalasalingam Academy marks 102nd founders’ day with awards

Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education celebrated the 102nd Founders’ Day of its Founder-Chairman, Kalvivallal T. Kalasalingam, with a special ceremony recognising excellence in research, academics and teaching.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. S. Arivalagi presided over the function. Vice-President Dr. S. Shasi Anand and Vice-President S. Arjun addressed the gathering and distributed research incentives totalling Rs. 33.5 lakh to 149 faculty members for their research contributions.
Research Competency Awards were presented to 65 faculty members for securing funded research projects, patents and consultancy assignments. Teaching Excellence Awards were conferred on 40 faculty members. Awards were also presented to faculty members for their contributions to club activities.
Academic award certificates and medals were presented to the top three rank holders among 350 students across programmes and academic years.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Narayanan and Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan felicitated the award winners.
Dr. S. Shasi Anand recalled the Founder-Chairman’s emphasis on hard work, dedication and lifelong learning, referred to as HDL, and congratulated the faculty and students. He called for continued efforts to strengthen the academic foundation and keep pace with emerging technologies. The Annual Research Report 2025 was also released on the occasion.
Director Dr. S. P. Balakannan welcomed the gathering, while Director Dr. M. Pallikondarajasekaran proposed the vote of thanks. They coordinated the programme along with Director Dr. C. Sivapragasam of IQAC.
Deans, directors, staff members and students participated in the function.
