Handlooms Minister Vijayabalaji inaugurated the expanded morning breakfast scheme at the Kamaraj Higher Secondary School in Erode Corporation.
Under the scheme, 59,070 students studying in Classes 1 to 5 in 1,208 schools across the district are already benefiting from the programme. The scheme has now been expanded to 423 additional schools, benefiting 28,984 students studying in Classes 6 to 8. With this expansion, a total of 88,054 students studying in 1,631 schools across the district will benefit from the morning breakfast scheme. District Collector Gandhasamy and Erode Corporation Commissioner Arpit Jain and CEO Maanvizhi were among those who attended the event.
