Kalasalingam University and Young Indians (Yi), Sivakasi, an initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and create opportunities for students in youth leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, industry exposure and social impact initiatives. The MoU signing ceremony was presided over by Chancellor Dr. S. Arivalagi Sridharan.
University Vice-President Dr. S. Shasi Anand and Yi Sivakasi Yuva Chair Mrs. Mano Chitra signed the MoU in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Narayanan and Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan.
Representing Yi Sivakasi were Yuvanath, Chair, Yi Sivakasi; Bala Tamilvanan, Chair, Entrepreneurship; and Adiban, Yuva Co-Chair.
Yuvanath said the MoU would strengthen industry-academia collaboration and provide students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, pursue entrepreneurship and innovation, gain industry exposure and participate in social impact initiatives.
Representing the university were Dr. H. Ahamed Fazeel Akram, Director, Architecture; Dr. B. Baranitharan, Deputy Director, S.A.; and Dr. A. Arivarasan, Director (In-charge), IEDC. Staff coordinators of various university clubs were also present and discussed the plan of activities under the MoU.
The event was organised by the Office of Student Affairs.
