Erode Aavin plans to produce 11 tonnes of Mysurpa for Deepavali: Collector inspects sweet-making unit

Erode District Collector S. Kandasamy on Thursday inspected the preparation of Mysurpa and other sweets at the Aavin dairy in Chithode ahead of the Deepavali
festival.
The Erode District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, popularly known as Aavin, has been preparing various varieties of sweets for the festival. Every year, Aavin manufactures sweets using pure cow’s milk, butter, ghee and quality ingredients and sells them at affordable prices.
This year, the dairy has planned to produce around 11 tonnes of Mysurpa for Deepavali. Of this, 6.5 tonnes have already been prepared, while the production of the remaining 4.5 tonnes is under way.
During the visit, the Collector inspected the sweet-making process and the ingredients used. He also enquired with officials about the production methods and arrangements made to meet the festival demand.
Mr. Kandasamy appealed to the public to purchase Aavin sweets and celebrate Deepavali.
District Revenue Officer Santhakumar, Aavin General Manager Karthikeyan and other officials accompanied him during the inspection.
