Musician Deva Honored in Australian Parliament

Renowned musician Deva was recently accorded a rare honor during his visit to Australia, where he was felicitated in the country’s parliament.

Recalling the memorable day, Deva said, “On September 24, I was welcomed with great respect at the Australian Parliament. I was given the privilege to sit in the Speaker’s chair and was presented with the honorary scepter. That moment is not just mine—it belongs to every South Asian artist who has carried music and culture across the world.”

Expressing gratitude, he added, “I dedicate this recognition to all of you. My heartfelt thanks to Lawrence Annadurai and the Australian Government for this honor.”
