On the occasion of his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi planted a Kadamb tree sapling at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi. The sapling was a special gift from King Charles III of the United Kingdom.
During his visit to the UK in July, PM Modi had gifted a Sonoma tree to King Charles. In return, the British monarch sent the Kadamb sapling, acknowledging their shared concern for environmental protection and sustainable living.
The British Embassy in Delhi, releasing a photo of the ceremony, said: “On the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, King Charles has gifted him a Kadamb tree sapling.”
The Embassy added that the Prime Minister’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (One Tree for Mother) campaign had impressed King Charles, as both leaders remain committed to combating climate change and promoting clean energy initiatives within the Commonwealth.
Planting the sapling at his official residence, PM Modi underlined his vision of combining personal commitment with global cooperation in the fight against climate change.
