Industrialists Clear Rs 90 Lakh Debt of 290 Farmers on Mother’s Day

In a heartwarming gesture of compassion, industrialists Babubhai Jirawala and his brother Kanshyam Jirawala from Surat, Gujarat, celebrated their late mother’s death anniversary by paying off the long-pending loans of 290 farmers from Amreli district, freeing them from nearly three decades of debt. According to reports, the farmers had pledged their land documents to a local Cooperative Credit Society in 1995. Unable to repay their dues, they remained trapped in debt for about 30 years, which also made them ineligible for government financial schemes and welfare benefits. Upon learning about their situation, the Jirawala brothers decided to take action. They settled the farmers’ collective dues of ₹90 lakh with the cooperative bank and personally redeemed the land deeds, which they handed back to the farmers at a special event organized in Amreli. The emotional ceremony saw several farmers shedding tears of joy, as their decades-long struggle for land ownership ended within moments. Many of them expressed heartfelt gratitude to the brothers, calling the gesture a blessing that restored their dignity and livelihood. Speaking about the initiative, Babubhai Jirawala said their mother had been their lifelong inspiration to help those in
need. “Our mother taught us that true service to God lies in serving people. The blessings of these farmers are the greatest tribute we could offer to her memory,” he said.
The selfless act by the Surat-based brothers on Mother’s Day has earned widespread praise across Gujarat.
