The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore Zone, organised “HR Update 2026 – What’s New for Employers?” on October 13 at the CII Conference Hall in Coimbatore, bringing together HR professionals and industry representatives to discuss recent developments in employment regulations, social security and statutory compliance.
Swagata Rai, Additional Central PF Commissioner, EPFO, Tamil Nadu (excluding Chennai), delivered the special address, highlighting initiatives to expand social security coverage and improve employer compliance. She explained the objectives of the Employees’ Enrolment Campaign 2026 and the VISHWAS Scheme, urging employers to understand their benefits and encouraging CII Coimbatore to create greater awareness among member organisations.
Vikas Anand, Regional PF Commissioner-I, EPFO Zonal Office, Coimbatore, stressed the importance of cooperation among employers, employees and government authorities. He also encouraged establishments to use the EPFO Principal Employer Portal to monitor contractors’ statutory compliance.
Pranav P, Regional Commissioner-II, EPFO, Coimbatore Regional Office, outlined updates concerning the statutory wage ceiling, employee enrolment, provident fund contributions, wage definitions under the new labour codes, pension benefits, and provident fund advances and withdrawals. He also highlighted the importance of reviewing payroll practices, electronic challan-cum-return (ECR) filings and statutory contributions.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr S Sudhakar, Convenor of the CII Coimbatore Zone Human Resource Panel and Vice President–HRD at Roots Industries India Pvt. Ltd.
C Subathra, Deputy General Manager, IDBI Bank Ltd., delivered a special address on corporate salary account services and employee benefits.An interactive session allowed participants to clarify regulatory changes and practical compliance issues. The programme concluded with remarks by Dr R Karthikeyan, Co-Convenor of the CII Coimbatore Zone Human Resource Panel and Head–Corporate HRD at LMW Limited.
The event was attended by industry representatives from Coimbatore and surrounding areas, with CII members appreciating the insights shared by EPFO officials and the practical guidance on emerging compliance
requirements.
