The nation today commemorated the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
His memorial in the capital was beautifully decorated with flowers as a steady stream of leaders arrived to pay homage.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi visited the memorial in the morning and offered floral tributes. Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge also paid his respects soon after.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Kiren Rijiju, senior Congress leader K.C. Venugopal, and several other prominent figures also visited the memorial and offered floral tributes on the occasion.
