Semmozhi Park in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore, will be opened for public use from Thursday, the Coimbatore Corporation administration announced on Wednesday.
The park, developed on 45 acres in the first phase at an estimated cost of Rs208 crore, was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on November 25. However, public entry had remained restricted as several works were pending.
With all remaining works now completed, the corporation has permitted public access beginning tomorrow.
Semmozhi Park has been designed with world-class features and is divided into 23 themed zones. Key attractions include a vast rose garden showcasing over a thousand varieties, sculptures donated by Kadaiyezhu Vallals, an Experience Centre, Tamil history sculpture installations, an artificial fountain, an open-air arena, and dedicated children’s play zones.
The entry fee has been fixed at Rs 15 for adults and Rs5 for children below 10 years. Monthly passes for walkers using the footpath are available at Rs100 per person. Charges include Rs25 for still cameras, Rs50 for video cameras, Rs25,000 per day for film shoots, and Rs2,000 per day for short-film and other photography.
The Corporation also announced that the Park will remain open daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
