In a miraculous escape, a 57-year-old man survived a fall from the 10th floor of an apartment complex in Jahangirpura area of Surat, Gujarat, on Wednesday morning.
The injured was identified as Nitinbhai Aadiya, a resident of the Times Galaxy apartment complex. Police said he was sleeping near a window when he accidentally slipped and fell from the 10th floor at around 8 a.m.
During the fall, his leg became stuck in the iron grill of the 8th floor, leaving him hanging upside down and struggling in pain. Neighbours who noticed the incident immediately alerted the fire and rescue services.
Firefighters rushed to the spot, secured him with ropes and successfully rescued him. He was later shifted to a hospital for treatment. A video of the dramatic rescue has since gone viral on social media.
