Mookuthi Amman 2 shooting wrapped

The shooting of Mookuthi Amman 2 has been completed, with the film’s team announcing the milestone by releasing a special video on Tuesday, much to the delight of fans.
The first part, Mookuthi Amman, directed by RJ Balaji and starring Nayanthara in the titular role, was released in 2020 and received a positive response from audiences.
Following its success, producer Wales Film International announced a sequel, to be jointly produced with Rowdy Pictures.
It was later revealed that director Sundar C would helm Mookuthi Amman 2, marking his first collaboration with Nayanthara, who reprises her role as the goddess Amman.
The film’s pooja ceremony was held in a grand manner in March this year, signalling the start of production.
Shooting for the sequel went on for over six months and was completed recently.
To mark the occasion, the makers released a video capturing moments from the sets and thanking the cast and crew for their efforts.
Mookuthi Amman 2 has been mounted on a lavish scale and features a strong supporting cast, including Regina Cassandra, Yogi Babu and Urvashi, among others.
The makers have indicated that the sequel will expand the scope and visual grandeur of the original while retaining its devotional and social themes.
The film has generated considerable anticipation, particularly as it brings together Sundar C and Nayanthara for the first time.
According to the production team, Mookuthi Amman 2 is slated for release during the summer holidays of 2026.
