DMK made 505 election promises in its election manifesto for the 2021 assembly elections. Out of these, 364 promises have been fulfilled and are in process. 40 announcements are under consideration by the government. A total of 404 promises have been fulfilled. This is 80 percent of the promises made.
Of the remaining 101 promises, 37 are pending due to non-cooperation from the Union BJP government. In particular, promises like cancelling the NEET exam and declaring Thirukkural as a national book are promises that can be fulfilled only with the cooperation of the Union government. There is a situation where 64 projects are not being taken up for action at present. These 64 promises have not been fulfilled due to local protests, lack of cooperation, and an unnecessary situation.
The government of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has implemented various schemes without being announced in the election promises. Schemes like the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, Illam Thedi Education, Numeracy Scheme, Pudumai Pen, Tamil Pudhalvan, Naan Muthulvan, Aptitude Test Scheme (a scheme under which 10th standard students will be provided witah a monthly scholarship of Rs. 1000 up to college education if they write this exam and pass), Thozhi Hostel Scheme, People’s Search for Medicine, Innuyir Kappom – 48 That Will Protect Us, Kalaignar’s All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Scheme, Green Tamil Nadu Movement, Thayumanavar Scheme, Anbu Karangal, Representation of the differently-abled in local bodies, Kalaignar’s Dream Home, 1 percent concession in stamp duty if property is registered in the name of women, Urban Habitat Development Board houses to be allotted only in the name of women, and Stalin with you are some of the schemes that were not mentioned in the promises.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has fulfilled many projects that were not mentioned in his election promises, saying, “We will do what we say and what we do not say.” Even now, he has made various announcements, adopting a new pension scheme for government employees and teachers, that is, almost the old pension scheme. The work has been accelerated by announcing that each family will be given a cash prize of Rs. 3000 along with a gift package for Pongal.
If we weigh all the benefits of such projects, it is true that he has given the people of Tamil Nadu benefits equivalent to fulfilling 100 percent of his promises.
No one can disagree that Tamil Nadu’s development should be taken to the next level. Good governance that does that should flourish in Tamil Nadu!
M.K. Stalin fulfills 100 percent promises!
