Four members of a Kerala family were killed in a tragic car accident on the Abu Dhabi–Dubai highway, while another woman travelling with them also lost her life.
Abdul Latheef, a native of Malappuram district in Kerala, has been working in Dubai and was residing there with his wife Rukhsana and their children. The family had travelled to Abu Dhabi to attend a function and was returning to Dubai by car.
The accident occurred near Shahama on the Abu Dhabi–Dubai road, when the vehicle reportedly met with a severe collision. Abdul Latheef’s wife Rukhsana and their children Ashaz, 14, Ammar, 12, and Ayash, 5, died on the spot.
A domestic worker, Bushra, who was travelling with the family, also died in the accident. Abdul Latheef sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.
Relatives of the family in Kerala said arrangements are being made to conduct the burial of the deceased in Dubai.
