The Bharath Saran Saraniyar Movement of Chengalpattu district conducted its Rajya Puraskar Award Certificate Ceremony along with the Revised Sopan Training Camp on Tuesday at Thooy Columba Higher Secondary School near the Chengalpattu Old Bus
Stand.
The event took place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with enthusiastic participation from students and scout masters across the
district.
Presiding over the ceremony, Chengalpattu District Principal Educational Officer Thiruvalarselvi presented the State Governor’s Rajya Puraskar Award to 1,048 Scouts selected from more than 50 schools.
In her special address, she praised the commitment, discipline, and service-oriented mindset of the young achievers, stressing the significance of scouting in shaping socially responsible youth. The program began with a welcome and inaugural address by R. Victor, Organizing Commissioner of the Chengalpattu District Bharat Scouts Movement. District Treasurer Ku. Chinnadurai and Camp In-charge Navakumar offered felicitation speeches, congratulating the awardees and commending the training initiatives of the
movement.

A large number of scout teachers and students from various schools participated, receiving both their awards and revised Sopan
training.
The training sessions were handled by District Training Commissioners Sumachandrakanth and Vasanthi, supported by district in-charges Ravikumar, Kamalnova, Selvi, Megala, Abhirami, Pushpa, Sakila, Vimala, Sumathi and Vetri Kannan.
The Scouts underwent a variety of skill-development sessions, including Akal Kalai, first aid, physical exercises, denture setting, and pioneering techniques, aimed at enhancing their preparedness and leadership capabilities. Beulah Sugunaseeli Manuel, Principal of Columba Higher Secondary School, along with several school officials, teachers, and students, participated in the program and extended support to the
organizers.
