ROSCON 2026, a national conference on robotic oncosurgery, was held at G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital in Coimbatore, bringing together leading experts from India and abroad to discuss advancements in robotic cancr treatment.
The three-day conference, held from March 20 to 22, was inaugurated by Ragupathy Veluswamy, Chief Executive Officer of GKNM Hospital. Somasekhar S P, Chairman, Medical Advisory Board, Aster DM Healthcare GCC and India, attended as the guest of honour.
The event was also graced by Subbiah Shanmugam, President, Tamil Nadu Association of Surgical Oncology.
Oncology consultants from GKNM Hospital who participated in the conference included Sivanesan, Chairman, Department of Oncology, Arul Raj, Consultant Oncologist and Robotic and HIPEC Surgeon, Praveen Ravishankaran, Consultant Laparoscopic, Robotic and HIPEC Surgeon, and Mohanraj, Chief Surgical Oncologist.
The conference highlighted the latest advancements in robotic-assisted cancer surgery, focusing on precision-driven, minimally invasive techniques aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Live surgical workshops, including robotic esophagectomy and advanced thoracic and gastrointestinal procedures, were conducted, providing real-time insights into surgical planning, intraoperative techniques, and postoperative care.
Hands-on training sessions were organised for surgeons and gynecologists to gain practical exposure to robotic platforms such as the Da Vinci Xi system.
The programme also featured keynote lectures, panel discussions, and interactive sessions covering thoracic, gastrointestinal, gynecological, and urological cancers.
The organisers said the conference aims to promote knowledge sharing and foster a strong network of robotic surgeons to enhance access to advanced cancer care across India.
The event saw participation from surgeons, oncologists, trainees, and healthcare professionals from across the country.
The conference reflected the growing adoption of robotic surgery in oncology and its potential to redefine standards of cancer treatment.
