21 killed as passenger bus plunges into ravine in ecuador

A major tragedy struck Ecuador on Wednesday when a passenger bus travelling between Guarananda and Ambato skidded off a mountain road and plunged into a deep ravine in the Simiaduk area.
According to officials, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while navigating the steep, winding stretch, causing the bus to overturn and crash into the ravine. The impact was so severe that 21 passengers died on the spot.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information and began extensive recovery operations. Several seriously injured passengers were pulled from the wreckage and transported to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, while local officials expressed concern over the recurring mishaps on this dangerous mountain route.
