26 new Government buses in TVK colours launched in Salem

Twenty-six new city buses operated by the Salem division of the State Transport Corporation were launched for public service in Salem on Thursday.
Transport Minister Parthiban flagged off the new buses. The buses, which replace the conventional blue colour used on city services, have been painted in yellow and red, the colours of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) flag. The buses have been introduced on new routes.
Government buses have undergone colour changes during different political regimes in the past. During the AIADMK regime, buses were painted green, while yellow was used during the DMK regime. In recent years, city buses have largely continued to operate in blue.
The launch of the new buses in yellow and red has attracted attention as the colours correspond to those of the ruling TVK.
Passengers who spoke about the new buses said the colour change had become a noticeable feature of the new administration.
