The Ranipet District Administration has appealed to the public to help identify the parents or guardians of a five-month-old baby boy who was found abandoned at the Sholinghur bus stand on October 26. According to officials, the infant was discovered unresponsive at the bus stand and was immediately rescued and given medical attention. Following this, the child was handed over to the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) for further care.
In an official statement, the administration said that any parent or guardian claiming the baby should contact the District Child Protection Officer at 04172-299347, the Chairman or Member of the Child Welfare Committee at 04172-291437, or the Child Helpline at 1098 within 30 days, along with valid proof of parentage or guardianship.
Authorities have also clarified that if no one claims the child within the given timeframe, he will be placed under the State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) through the legal adoption process.
Officials have assured that the baby is currently safe and under proper care at a government-recognized child welfare home.
