The third day of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly’s monsoon session began today under the chairmanship of Speaker M. Appavu, with AIADMK legislators staging a unique protest to highlight the alleged kidney theft cases reported in the state.
After wearing black armbands yesterday to condemn the Karur stampede and organ theft incidents, AIADMK MLAs arrived at the Assembly today with stickers reading “Beware of Kidneys” prominently displayed on their shirts.
The symbolic protest drew attention across the House, as the Opposition prepared to raise the issue of kidney theft during the proceedings. Party sources said the move was meant to pressure the government to take swift and decisive action on the matter.
Meanwhile, the Question Hour session continued, with ministers responding to queries raised by MLAs on various administrative and public welfare issues. Despite the protest, the session proceeded in an orderly manner under the supervision of the Speaker.
