Actor and racer Ajith Kumar has thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and the State Government for announcing plans to establish a dedicated Motor Sports City in Tamil Nadu.
Ajith Kumar, who continues to pursue motor racing alongside his acting career, has actively participated in international racing events. His racing team has also secured podium finishes in several competitions.
Ajith Kumar was recently honoured with the Gentleman Driver Award for the year by Philip Chariot Motorsport in Venice, Italy. His experiences in motor racing have also been featured in a documentary directed by A. L. Vijay. Titled Gladiators, the film is scheduled to hit theatres soon.
In a statement thanking the Tamil Nadu Government and Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, Ajith Kumar welcomed the proposed Motor Sports City and appreciated the State Government’s initiatives to encourage youngsters to take up sports, identify their talents and provide opportunities for their development.
Expressing his happiness over the proposed Motor Sports City, Ajith Kumar said: “One small step by the Tamil Nadu Government, one giant leap for Indian motorsports.”
He also extended his wishes for the success of the Chief Minister’s initiatives and said he hoped the Motor Sports City and other sports initiatives of the Tamil Nadu Government would achieve great success.
