Ambulance staff sacked after forcing patient’s wife to clean Blood-Stained vehicle

A shocking incident in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh has triggered outrage after the wife of an injured accident victim was allegedly forced to clean a blood-stained ‘108’ ambulance while her husband was being rushed to hospital.

The incident occurred when Rahul Parman, who was injured in a road accident in Karela village, was being transported to Katni District Hospital. During the journey, emergency medical technician Mohit Kathik reportedly asked Parman’s wife, Pramila Barman, to clean the blood inside the ambulance.

A video of the incident, which surfaced on social media, sparked widespread condemnation and prompted immediate administrative action. Katni Chief Medical and Health Officer Raj Singh Thakur, who conducted the inquiry, confirmed that the act was a clear violation of established medical protocols and termed it unacceptable.

Following directions from District Collector Ashish Tiwari, an investigation was carried out. Based on the findings, JAES Projects Private Limited, the agency operating the ambulance service, terminated both ambulance pilot Deva Sahu and EMT Mohit Kathik.

Officials stated that strict action would continue against any personnel found violating patient care norms.
