Amrita Team Wins Global Motorsport Competition

In a historic achievement, MotoAmrita, the Motorcycle Engineering Team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has become the first Asian team to win a trophy at the MotoStudent International Competition 2025, held at MotorLand Aragón, Spain, from October 15 to 19.
The team won the Best Rookie Team Award in the E-Fuel category, presented by Daniel Urquizu Sancho, Managing Director of the Moto Engineering Foundation (MEF).
Now in its eighth edition, MotoStudent International is one of the world’s leading university-level motorsport competitions. This year’s event featured 86 teams from 20 countries, where students designed and raced prototype motorcycles powered by Electric and E-Fuel (100% renewable fuel) technologies, showcasing innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.
MotoAmrita also achieved an impressive World Ranking of 14th in the MS1 (Engineering Design) phase, which evaluated design, innovation, and project execution.
The team was mentored by M. Sivanesan, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade), Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Representing Amrita at the final event in Spain were Sriharish R (Captain), Raghav Palanikumar S (Technical Lead), Arun Vijai A R, P. L. Ashwanth, Mithun K R, Mahalakshmi M, Siddharth Satish Kumar (Alumni Team Member), and Abdul Basim (Professional Rider).
