Annamalai to unveil new party name and flag next month

Former Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai, who stepped down from the post ahead of the Assembly elections, formally exited the Bharatiya Janata Party last month. Following his departure, he launched his existing organisation, “We The Leaders,” into active politics and began an online membership drive.
The organisation claimed that nearly 10 lakh people enrolled as members on the first day of the campaign. Membership enrolment is continuing across Tamil Nadu through special outreach camps.
After drawing a large gathering of youth at a conference held in Pollachi on July 12, preparations are now under way for a second conference in Thoothukudi.
As part of efforts to prepare for the upcoming local body elections, Annamalai is planning to announce the name of his new political party and unveil its official flag during the third week of August. He is said to be personally overseeing the preparations for the launch.
Following the announcement of the party name and flag, Annamalai is also planning to hold a massive public conference on September 14, with Madurai or Tiruchirappalli being considered as the venue. Consultation meetings for the launch event are expected to be held over the coming weeks.
Members of the “We The Leaders” organisation are also scheduled to travel across Tamil Nadu to meet supporters and coordinate organisational activities as preparations gather pace for the local body elections.
