Another happy news for women!

The Tamil Nadu government is making a series of happy announcements for women who currently receive Rs. 1,000 as Kalaignar Urimai Thogai.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recently announced that once the Dravidian model government is re-established after the assembly elections, women will be given Rs. 2,000 per month.
Before the women could recover from that joy, the Tamil Nadu government issued another announcement yesterday. It has been announced that from now on, a special summer allowance of Rs. 2000 will be provided annually.
Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Minister Geetha Jeevan made this announcement during the debate on the Interim Budget 2026-&27. She has made such a big announcement as a surprise and has encouraged women. According to her announcement, from now on, women artists will also receive a special summer allowance along with the women’s allowance every year.
That is, the Urimai Thogai is Rs 2000 and the summer special amount is Rs 2000, totalling Rs 4000. This amount is available only to those who are beneficiaries of the Urimai Thogai.
In which month will this amount be available? The government has not yet announced. But in any of these three months, February, March, April, women will now get Rs 4000 in a year. If you look closely at the government’s position, the summer special amount was given in February this year itself. That is, it has predicted the need for money for the expenses of the people in advance and given it in advance. Therefore, the summer special amount that will be provided from now on can also be given in advance, that is, in February itself.
The announcement of the summer special amount for women has brought both shock and joy. The smiles on the faces of women across the state show it.
Whatever government grants and benefits women receive, men are also happy, aren’t they? What other benefits is Chief Minister M.K. Stalin going to announce to further improve the economic status of women?
Let’s wait!
