Anti-Corruption Raids At Tirupati Devasthanam Officer’s Residences

TIRUPATI, SEPT. 3:

Anti-Corruption Bureau officials conducted searches at five locations, including the residence of a Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officer, following allegations that he had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The officer, Lokanatham, is serving as the Joint Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and is posted at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala.

The searches were carried out at his residence in Thottapuram, the B-53 accommodation allotted to him in Tirumala, the residences of his two brothers-in-law and a relative’s house in Chellur village. The searches were conducted by officials and police personnel led by Tirupati Anti-Corruption Bureau DSP Srinivasa Rao.

Officials also searched his locker at the State Bank of India branch in S.D.V. Nagar, Tirupati.

During the searches, officials reportedly seized property documents relating to immovable assets worth several crores of rupees, gold and diamond jewellery, house-site documents, silver articles and cash, which were allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau seized the unaccounted assets and valuables. The total value of the seized items was not immediately disclosed.
