Avila Convent Matric Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, has brought laurels to Tamil Nadu by securing first place in the Southern Zonal School Band Competition and qualifying for the National-Level School Band Competition to be held in New Delhi in January
2026.
The Southern Zonal Competition was conducted on December 11, 2025, in Hyderabad, Telangana.
A total of nine teams representing the Southern Zone—Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Telangana and Tamil Nadu—participated in the
event.
Representing Tamil Nadu, the school band of Avila Convent Matric Higher Secondary School delivered an outstanding performance and emerged as the zonal champion, earning a place at the national
level.
The achievement is a proud moment for both Coimbatore city and the State of Tamil Nadu, as Avila Convent School will represent the State in the upcoming National-Level School Band Competition in New
Delhi.
