The Communication Skills Centre and the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women jointly organised a workshop on Effective Communication and Language Skills recently on the campus.
Dr. J. Anbazhagan Vijay, Professor and Head of the Department of English at Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, served as the resource person. He guided students on expressing ideas clearly, responding effectively to situations and building better connection with their audience.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Shashi Prabha Jain, Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences. Dr. S. Gayathri Devi, Liaison Officer, SC/ST Cell, offered greetings.
Earlier, Dr. S. Christina Rebecca, Coordinator, Communication Skills Centre, welcomed the gathering, while Mrs. R. Karunambika, Assistant Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks.
The interactive session enabled students to understand the importance of adapting language to different contexts and audiences, structuring ideas with clarity and confidence, and participating effectively in discussions and presentations.
