The Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women observed World Mental Health Day 2025 with a vibrant and reflective event titled “Kalopsia 2025” on its campus on October 10. The programme aimed to raise awareness on mental wellness, self-care, and emotional expression among students.
More than 500 students actively participated in a range of activities, including Talk Therapy, Psychoeducation Boards, and Psychological Assessments, which encouraged self-reflection and promoted the message that seeking help and prioritizing mental health is essential. The sessions offered students an opportunity to understand their emotions better and recognize the importance of expressing their feelings openly.

The event also featured Zen Meditation and Relaxation Games, providing participants a calm and safe environment to unwind and reconnect with themselves. These sessions encouraged mindfulness and stress relief, allowing students to pause from their daily routines and focus on inner peace.
Adding a heartwarming touch, the Gratitude Wall and Gratitude Giving activities inspired moments of reflection and appreciation, reminding participants that small acts of kindness can have a powerful impact. Smiles, laughter, and emotional moments marked the day as students expressed gratitude toward friends, teachers, and loved ones.
The Photo Booth became a space of joy and togetherness, capturing cheerful memories and symbolizing the spirit of the day — connection, care, and community.
