The birth anniversary of Mahakavi Bharathiyar was celebrated at Gobi PKR Women’s College. The event was graced by the presence of the college’s Correspondent P.N. Venkatachalam, Head of the Tamil Department K. Umamaheswari, Vice Principal S.A. Dhanalakshmi, the special guest Mr. Niranjan Bharathi, great-grandson of Mahakavi Bharathiyar, who is also a poet and film lyricist, and Assistant Professor S. Ariyanachiyammal.
At the event, two books were released: ‘Illarame Nallarame’ written by Tamil enthusiast Thirumalaisamy, and ‘Sinthanai Siragugal’ written by college student Selvi Subhashini.
