A strange complaint from Lodhasa village in Mahmudabad tehsil, Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh, has left local officials baffled — a man has claimed that his wife transforms into a nagini (female serpent) at night and terrifies him by making hissing noises like “ush… ush…”.
The unusual grievance came to light during a public grievance redressal camp held on October 4 under the leadership of District Collector Abhishek Anand. The complainant, Meraj, appeared before the officials and made the astonishing claim that his wife, Nasimun, behaves like a serpent at night and prevents him from sleeping peacefully.
“I am scared to stay at home. My wife turns into a nagini at night and makes snake-like sounds. I have complained to the police several times, but no action has been taken,” Meraj reportedly told the officials.
The officers attending the camp were stunned by the bizarre complaint. However, Collector Abhishek Anand directed the Mahmudabad police to verify the facts and take appropriate action.
Police officials later confirmed that they had received the complaint and launched a preliminary inquiry. The peculiar case has since gone viral on social media, drawing both amusement and disbelief, as residents continue to discuss one of the most unusual complaints ever registered in Sitapur district.
