With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching next year, political negotiations among major parties have begun to gain momentum.
In a development that has drawn wide attention, BJP National Vice President and Tamil Nadu Assembly election in-charge Baijayant Panda MP, met PMK President Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss at the party’s PMK headquarters in Thailavaram, near Chennai, on Thursday.
According to political sources, the meeting focused on possible alliance arrangements ahead of the 2026 polls. It is said that Panda discussed the prospect of the PMK rejoining the AIADMK–BJP alliance, as part of the BJP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu.
The discussion lasted for nearly an hour and was described as cordial and constructive. Both leaders, however, refrained from revealing details of the conversation. Party insiders suggested that the BJP is actively seeking to bring regional allies like the PMK into its fold to consolidate its position before the elections.
The meeting marks a significant political turn, especially as the AIADMK–BJP alliance has recently shown signs of revival. Observers note that this outreach reflects the BJP’s renewed focus on expanding its support base in Tamil Nadu’s multi-party political landscape.
