A bomb threat email claiming explosives had been planted at the residence of actor Khushbu in Santhome triggered panic in Chennai on Friday.
The email was received at the office of the Director General of Police, following which senior police officials ordered an immediate security check. Bomb disposal squad personnel and police rushed to the actor’s residence and conducted an intensive search operation.
After several hours of thorough പരിശോധന, no explosives were found, and the threat was later confirmed to be a hoax.
Cybercrime police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the origin of the email.
Police sources said a similar hoax bomb threat was issued to actor Trisha’s residence two days ago, raising concerns over repeated false alerts targeting film personalities.
