A bomb threat targeting the residences of actors Rajinikanth and Dhanush triggered a security alert in Chennai on Friday, prompting swift action by police and bomb disposal squads.
The threat was received through an email sent to the State DGP’s control room, following which security agencies rushed to the locations and carried out thorough inspections.
Bomb disposal experts and police personnel conducted detailed checks at the premises as part of precautionary measures.
Subsequent investigations confirmed that the threat was a hoax. Police have now launched a probe to trace the individual responsible for sending the false alert.
