A young bride-to-be from Andhra Pradesh died mysteriously just a day before her wedding in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district, leaving both families in deep shock.
The deceased, Sandhya (21), daughter of Pandurangan and Vanitha, hailed from Sinthalapattadai village near Nagari in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. A B.Com graduate, she was residing with her parents in Manavalanagar, near Tiruvallur.
Her marriage had been arranged with Mani, a resident of Bharathi Nagar, Athimancheri Pettai, near Pallipattu, and the wedding was scheduled to take place on Friday at Balijakanthigai village, close to Athimancheri Pettai.
According to reports, Sandhya went to take a bath yesterday morning but failed to return after a long time. When repeated knocking on the door went unanswered, her family members broke it open and found her lying unconscious on the bathroom floor.
She was rushed to the Athimancheri Pettai Primary Health Centre, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Following the tragic incident, the Pothatturpet Police registered a case and began investigations. Police sources said they are probing whether the death was due to poison consumption or other causes, pending the post-mortem report.
The sudden death of the bride, just hours before her wedding, has caused widespread grief and shock in both villages and among relatives who had gathered for the ceremony.
