In connection with the Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives, senior office-bearers of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam appeared before the agency in New Delhi on Monday.
TVK General Secretary Bussy Anand and Aadhav Arjuna presented themselves at the CBI office for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
They were accompanied by C.T.R. Nirmal, Deputy General Secretary of the party, the Karur district secretary and other functionaries, all of whom appeared in person before the investigators.
Despite being summoned to Delhi, the leaders complied with the CBI directive and cooperated with the inquiry into the tragic incident, which ranks among the deadliest stampedes reported in Tamil Nadu in recent years.
