Case Filed Against Woman YouTuber For Stealing Gold From Elderly Man

A case has been registered against woman YouTuber Madhumitha, 28, by the Rajakkamangalam police on allegations that she took five sovereigns of gold jewellery from an elderly man by claiming that she would provide physiotherapy.
Madhumitha, a resident of Thammathukonam near Nagercoil, had earlier complained to police that four persons had stolen cash and jewellery from her house. She had reported that 118 sovereigns of jewellery were stolen. However, police recovered only 98 sovereigns from those arrested. Allegations were subsequently raised that she had overstated the quantity of jewellery stolen in her complaint.
Meanwhile, a separate complaint was filed against Madhumitha by Pechimuthu, 89, a building contractor from KTC Nagar in Tirunelveli.
According to his complaint at the Rajakkamangalam police station, Pechimuthu used to undergo physiotherapy for back pain and came to know Madhumitha during treatment. He alleged that she visited Tirunelveli in 2022, got into his car and attempted to provide him physiotherapy.
Pechimuthu said he did not agree to the treatment and dropped Madhumitha at a bus stand before returning home. He later noticed that five sovereigns of gold jewellery were missing.
He further alleged that when he questioned Madhumitha about the missing jewellery, she threatened to defame him by making allegations about him.
Based on the complaint, the Rajakkamangalam police registered a theft case against Madhumitha and initiated further investigation.
